Chautauqua County Airport

Chautauqua County Airport - Jamestown Airport Rehabilitation of Runway 7-25 Runway consisted of profile milling the existing Runway 7-25 and re-paving with two lifts of asphalt. The first lift was a 2 ½” trueing and leveling course and the second was a 2½”surface course. Additionally, the intersection of Runway 7-25 and Runway 13-31 was reconstructed by removing all the asphalt and over 2’ of existing ground. Three feet of new subbase was installed, fine graded and paved. During the paving process, Lake Shore Paving exceeded both the mat and joint compaction requirements. After all paving was completed, mat smoothness was checked using a profilagraph. The smoothness measured 4.65 in/mile compared to the specification requirements of 15 in/mile. Lake Shore Paving received the 2022 Asphalt Pavement Showcase Award
